PRINTABLE! Last 10 Days of Ramadaan Good Deeds Chart!

A good sister friend and I run a local Islamic summer camp designed for children ages 7-12. This is Camp Mu'mineen's third year , Alhamdulillah! Yesterday we had the humble opportunity to feed the needy at a local food pantry, Alhamdulillah. It was also the last day of our first camp session as we break for the last ten days of Ramadaan and Eid, inshaAllah. Before we let the children go on break, we gave them a "Last 10 days of Ramadaan" challenge. They have to track their good deeds and bring this chart back to receive a small gift from us! I got the idea from a chart we downloaded years ago at Islamic Bulletin Boards. I made two slightly different versions. They are on one file. The second one would be more suitable for older children inshaAllah.

Our Ramadaan Wall

Assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatuallahi wa barakaatuhu! Ramadaan Mubarak! I've been too busy to post much, alhamdulillah. We've been on our odd Ramadaan schedule which means late nights and early mornings. Alhamdulillah!! I've been doing my best to attend daily ramadan class given by Umm Mujaahid called Making the Most of Ramadhaan: 1435. May Allah bless and reward the sister with goodness for offering this beneficial class. Ameen.  Alhamdulillah, it is a great way to start the day.

Here's our Ramadaan Wall with some downloads from here and there, mashaAllah.
- Ramadaan Tree Fasting Tracker from Smartark.com.
- Good deeds cards from Umm AbdulBasir's Creative Corner. which we pasted on to the cute calendar tags from SweetFajr.com.
- Beautiful duaa printable from In My Studio.
- And then I made my own letters, cut/pasted them on to card stock to save on ink lol. If you like the letters, you can get them here.

May Allah bless us all to benefit from this blessed month and accept our worship. Ameen.

If you didn't download our Ramadaan Journal from last year, here it is again!

My Summer Learning Goals Printable Page

I've been reading this book called The Unschooling Unmanual. It is a compilation of stories from families that unschool. The main idea of unschooling is to allow the child to naturally learn at their pace and about the things that interest them most. In this way, they retain the material because it intrigues them as opposed to lessons taught on irrelevant subjects to the child. I love this idea of natural learning and child-led learning and although I would say we are eclectic homeschoolers, a part of me still hangs on to traditional ways of teaching and learning. BUT I've decided to give this method a try, inshaAllah! We will continue with our studies throughout the summer but I'm going to allow my children to choose what they would like to learn about anything and everything! So, I told them to make a list of things they want to learn how to do or make, some places they want to go and some subjects they would like to know more about. Feel free to print out our Summer Learning Goal sheet!

Get it HERE!

AND don't forget to download my Ramadaan Goals sheet from last year!

FREE Qur'an Arabic Reading Practice Books (Iqro)

I am so excited to find this rare gem (rare in the U.S., that is)!! It's almost impossible to find this book here unless you know someone from Indonesia or Malaysia who has them or going back home to get you some :) Alhamdulillah, these books offer the student lots and lots of practice. It dives right into learning the Arabic letter with tashkeel. So one does not need to learn the actual name of the letter. It is very similar to Noorani Qaidah but with a lot more practice on recognition of the letter in different forms--beginning, middle, end, with medd, with tanween etc. By the end of sixth book, your student should be able to read the Qur'an fluently, Alhamdulillah! I'm already starting this book with my 3 year old, Alhamdulillah. If you need a little guidance with this book, you can search "iqro" on youtube, inshaAllah.  May Allah bless all of us to be able to read the Qur'an correctly with knowledge and implementation. Ameen!

FREE Digestive System Notebooking Pages and FREE Online Resources

Assalaamu alaikum! I've been meaning to share these notebooking pages for some time now. We used these along with the resources below and tons of books from the library. My kids really enjoyed learning about the digestive process, mashaAllah!

I made a Color and Label page. My 5 yr. old labeled it with play doh and the older girls decided to just color it in.

We demonstrated what happens to food as it enters the stomach by crushing crackers and adding soda to act as the gastric juices.

You can find other fun activities to do at The Homeschool Den and HERE.
